When the European Commission launched the Phare und Tacis Programmes at the beginning of the 1990s, ICON Public's team led by Katharina Tegeder was already one step ahead. The first areas of activity concerned support in the establishment of national labour market administrations, alongside provision of advice in social and environmental policy. By co-operating with partners who are experts in the designated field, the team has gained significant competence in the management of national and multi-country programmes throughout the world. Presently the ICON Public team is particularly successful in projects for alignment with EC requirements in law, administration, environment and statistics.
