  Objective The education in the primary schools in urban marginal areas meets the specific demands of the respective communities.
     
  Beneficiaries Pre-, basic and medium level schoolchildren, handicapped children, dropouts, youth and adults, community workers, parents, teachers, voluntary teachers, school principals, district directors, and personnel at Ministry level

Provided		 Strengthening the interaction between the schools and the respective communities
     
  Adaptation of the existing curricula and development of training material to meet the specific needs of the urban marginal (poor) communities
     
  Development and adaptation of community and job oriented curricula
     
  Diversification of educational opportunities (pre-school,
7-9th grade, education for dropouts, for handicapped, etc.)
     
  Improvement of the planning, administration and management capacities of the schools
     
  Supply of material and equipment for education and training
     
  Training of teachers, community personnel, school administrative staff and managers
     
  Construction and rehabilitation of classrooms and other school facilities
