The aim of the Program is the responsive provision of vocational and secondary education facilities for areas of the Aceh and Nias Province hit by the earthquake of March, 2005 and the tsunami of December, 2004. This is a contribution to the reconstruction and general stabilization of the disaster areas which will be governed by the Master Plan published by the Government of Indonesia in April 2005.

Provided

1) Fast track rehabilitation and reconstruction of 3 general secondary schools in Banda Aceh City

2) Rehabilitation and reconstruction of 5 further schools

3) Rehabilitation and reconstruction of the remaining ca. 26 schools

The following measures are being implemented

Preparation detailed designs for construction works

Elaboration of technical specifications for equipment

Compilations of tender dossiers for works and supply contracts

Management of the tender procedure, evaluation, contract award and contract negotiations

Supervision of works and supplies

Contract management of works and supply contracts, supervision works and deliveries, installation and commissioning, assistance in final acceptance by beneficiaries

Technical teacher training
